Transition to CoffeeCone.com

It's been a long time since I last posted here. Main reason was because I have been extremely busy. Add to that the recent Twitter acquisition of Posterous. I'm not happy about it because it's very clear that Twitter will slowly but surely kill off Posterous in the near future. Those two affected my will to post any more onto this blog.

With that said, I'm regretfully saying that this will be the last post for Inscriptions. BUT, do not fret, for I have been working on a new blog for some time now. It's called CoffeeCone and it can be reached at coffeecone.com. I figured a refresh is all I need especially since Posterous' migration tool doesn't seem to be getting actively developed (yet?).

Instead of migrating all my posts from here (Posterous) to a new host like Tumblr, I decided to just start all over again with a new blog. I know the PR and the established posts would all be wasted but it was fun while I was just starting this blog so I want to re-live that experience.

You are probably asking, "What will happen to this blog and all its contents then?". Well, I intend on making this blog sort of my portfolio website. The relevant and mostly-visited posts (mostly my tutorials) will be migrated over to CoffeeCone and the not-so-known ones will be kept in an archive. I don't intend to abandon this domain so it isn't really wasted effort after all as far as SEO and page rank goes. I'll think of a way to redirect users to the appropriate CoffeeCone post once I eventually take this blog down.

So yeah, it has been a short but fun run for Inscriptions but I'm looking forward to achieving even more over at CoffeeCone. So I'll see you there! The URL is below. Please don't forget to Like the new CoffeeCone page, add the CoffeeCone account to your circle, and follow @CoffeeCone. :)

LoginRadius: A One-Stop Social Gateway (w/ usage example)

As a developer, I often find myself in a bit of a problem whenever I want to integrate social networking sites to a project I'm working on. For example, I wanted to introduce social login to a small CMS I'm making. Because there's a ton of different social networking sites, I often just drop the idea because I either have no time to study each and every one of their APIs, or I'm just plain lazy. Then came LoginRadius.

I was about to look for recent posts on my blog when I saw the following image hovering on top of the Posterous homepage.

Minecraft ShotUp - Autoupload your screenshots to Tumblr!

Yesterday, I just finished working on a simple utility tool / app for use in conjunction with Minecraft. I call it Minecraft ShotUp or MC ShotUp for short. The name for the word "ShotUp" was derived from the words "screenshot" and "upload" which is exactly what it does. It uploads Minecraft in-game screenshots to a specified Tumblr blog. It took me approximately 2 days to finish the working copy of the app and the release was officially made yesterday, March 10, 2012. I don't expect much from this app since I only made it for self usage and decided to share it with the Tumblr community.
